I actually quite like Will Smith. He was fantastic in Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness and Six Degrees of Separation. I'm also a big fan of things like Enemy of the State and Independence Day (a great guilty pleasure). Heck, I even quite liked Hancock and I Am Legend.

But I found Seven Pounds to be really self-important, miserable and dull. I usually like getting swept away by the moment but when I felt myself being moved by the conclusion of this film, I was actually angry because I didn't feel that the film was good enough to deserve an emotional response from me!

I really can't give it anything higher than a 2 because the films that I've rated higher than 2 are better films. I'm hoping to write an explanation of my ratings next week in order to explain myself better.

I should start by openly admitting I am a Will Smith fanboi. The movie was certainly messy and as with any top reviewer, you help to articulate that bad taste the movie left me with. But still, only 2 stars?
